Flexibility in program content and design gives graduate students the opportunity to develop strong expertise and to obtain experiences oriented toward life-long learning, enhancing undergraduate credentials, and strengthening their competitive advantage in increasingly technical and demanding career fields. Students receive individualized attention in programs developed in close coordination with the faculty and based on the students' background, relevant course work, employment, and other goals. Degrees require thirty credit hours of class work, including course work in the students' core area, courses in a cognate area and an independent research project, all of which are selected in consultation with the student's advisor.
