What is Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society?

Kappa Omicron Nu is the leading Honor Society for students in the Human Sciences.
Kappa Omicron Nu is a member of the Association of College of Honor Societies (ACHS). The mission of ACHS is to build a visibly cohesive community of national and international honor societies, individually and collaboratively exhibiting excellence in scholarship, service, programs, and governance.

What is Human Sciences?

As an academic framework, the Human Sciences provide multidisciplinary education, research, and service focused on individuals, families, communities, and their health and environments for the purpose of improving and enhancing the quality of living.
The Human Sciences signify a commitment to improving social justice and developing more desirable relations in communities, organizations, and the wider society for the benefit of all.
Representing the Human Sciences and a philosophy of improving the quality of living, membership in Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society is available to majors in academic programs including (but not limited to) consumer studies, criminal justice, design, education, exercise science, financial planning, food science and human nutrition, gerontology, health sciences, human environment and housing, individual and family development, institution/hotel/restaurant management, kinesiology, leadership, merchandising management, policy analysis and management, resource management, social work, textiles/apparel and clothing, wellness.

What is the mission of KON?

The mission of Kappa Omicron Nu is empowered leaders through scholarship, research, and leadership. This mission will enable the organization and chapters to prepare scholars and researchers for the 21st century.
