Potential Careers

If you major in Family Studies or minor in Family Life Education, you have serveral possible career options, depending upon your desire and/or ability to pursue a graduate degree.

If you choose to complete your education with a bachelor of science (B.S.) degree, you many qualify for various human service positions. Recent graduates have found work in positions as:

If you wish to pursue a master's degree and career in counseling, marriage and family therapy, or social work, either a family studies or family life education program is excellent preparation. Family studies faculty members enjoy developing mentoring relationships with students who are interested in graduate school education. We are willing to provide students with an opportunity to develop "hands-on" research skills and encourage and support independent undergraduate research.
