Students in front of buildingThe Master of Arts in Educational Technology is an extension of the Graduate Certificate Program in Educational Technology. The degree is designed for educators seeking to integrate educational technology into the K-12 curriculum and into other educational settings. The degree will prepare you for educational technology leadership roles in school systems at the regional, district, building, and classroom level.

The Educational Technology Program prepares you with specialized knowledge and competencies required for the instructional use of educational technology. Upon completing courses of study, you will have the skills to provide leadership in educational policy and practice for the use of various forms of educational technology. This program focuses on the integration of technology into the teaching, learning, and organizational aspects of schools.
The degree coursework requires that you complete:

  • a planned program of study of 30-33 credit hours with an overall grade point average of 3.0 or better. The degree coursework requires:
  • 15 hours of Major Technology Core selected (with advisor approval) from: Technology Coordinator, or Special Education Technology.
  • Nine hours of Minor Technology Core related to your technology career goals and approved by an advisor. (Must be different from the major core with at least two of the three courses at the 6000 level.)

The program options leading to a career in educational technology prepare you for jobs such as: Instructional System Specialist, Curriculum Specialist, Curriculum Coordinator, Curriculum Instruction Director, Curriculum Director, School Standards Coach, Career Technical Supervisor, Curriculum and Assessment Director, Curriculum Facilitator, Professional Development Director.
