The Educational Technology master's degree is an extension of the Graduate Certificate Program in Educational Technology. The degree is designed for educators seeking to integrate educational technology into the K-12 curriculum and into other educational settings. The degree will prepare teachers for educational technology leadership roles in school systems at the regional, district, building, and classroom level.
The mission of the Educational Technology Program is to educate students with the specialized knowledge and competencies required by school teachers and administrators pertaining to the instructional use of educational technology. Upon completing courses of study, students will possess the skills necessary to provide leadership regarding educational policy and practice for the use of various forms of educational technology. While knowledge of the technical aspects of computers, networking, and telecommunications are contained within the program, the focus of this program is on the integration of technology into the teaching, learning, and organizational aspects of schools. Individuals with varying degrees of technology experience will find this program useful in increasing their overall effectiveness in the K-12 technology arena.
