Significant Educational Leadership Program
Enhancements
WMU's Master of Arts (M.A.) degree now offers:
- New 30-credit program (for 3 of 4 available concentrations) designed to better prepare future educational leaders.
- New multi-year course offering plan which allows many students to complete their MA program in 18-months (and at multiple locations including WMU’s main Kalamazoo campus and WMU's Grand Rapids, Battle Creek, Muskegon, and Southwest branch campuses).
- New cutting-edge classes such as Data-Informed Decision-Making Research and Evaluation, and Instructional Leadership and Supervision.
- Full alignment with the new state voluntary K-12 Administrator Certification and Basic Principal Endorsement requirements.
- Full alignment with a newly revised K-12 Education Specialist Degree (Ed.S.), which requires just 30 additional credits beyond the new 30-credit MA in Educational Leadership Degree.
In addition, our newly revised K-12 Education Specialist Degree (Ed.S) offers:
- Full alignment with our MA in Educational Leadership (K-12 Principal Concentration) and our Ph.D. in Educational Leadership (K-12 Leadership Concentration). 30 MA Credits + 30 Ed.S. Credits + 30 Ph.D. Credits = Your Future in K-12 Educational Leadership.
- Full alignment with the new state voluntary Basic Central Office Endorsement.
- All required courses available at both the Kalamazoo main campus and the Grand Rapids Beltline branch campus; offered nights, weekends and/or on-line to support working professionals.
