This master's degree prepares you as a leaders in educational organizations, including K-12 schools, higher education, governmental agencies and professional associations. This comprehensive program supports active instruction by merging cutting-edge theory with best practices. You can choose from four core concentrations:
- K-12 School Principal Leadership (New 18-month program option)
- K-12 Curriculum and Instruction Leadership
- Higher Education and Student Affairs (HESA) Leadership
- Organizational Analysis Leadership
Carreer Opportunities
After graduating from this program, you will be prepared for positions of prominenece as a principal, superintendent, higher education administrator or executive director of nonprofit organizations.

- Graduation Information - Submit the "graduate audit application" at least six months in advance of a planned graduation date.
WMU’s K-12 educational leadership master’s degree program meets the Michigan K-12 Administrator Certification requirments, NCATE accreditation standards and the guidelines of the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC), and is a Michigan State Board of Education Approved Principal Preparation Program. The HESA concentration meets CAS standards for higher education.
