New 18-Month MA Program Option
WMU’s educational leadership courses are offered so students can complete their master's degree, Principal Leadership Concentration, in 18 months. Students will need to begin either a fall or spring semester AND take 2 courses per semester (plus a 1 credit Education Leadership Masters Seminar their first semester), as well as take four classes during the summer (one during summer I and three during summer II).
Possible 18-month master's program plans exist for the Main Kalamazoo Campus, and for the Grand Rapids, Battle Creek, Muskegon and Southwest Campuses.
The master's program is also designed for students within the Principal Leadership concentration who cannot take two classes per semester. These students are able to start at any time and take whatever number of courses they can each semester (taking longer to graduate). These students, as well as those within the other master's concentrations (Curriculum and Instructional Leadership, Organizational Analysis, and Higher Education & Student Affairs Leadership) can use the EDLD Master's Degree Multi-Year Course Offering Plan to develop a timeline for their program of studies.
