June 6-7 at the WMU downtown campus in Grand Rapids, MI
The theme of the 2008 Great Lakes Counseling Psychology Conference celebrates counseling psychology’s role in an increasingly more global society through scholarship and practice and the profession’s work towards bridging differences and developing effective interventions at the individual, professional, organizational and societal level.
The 2008 Great Lakes Conference will be held at The Graduate Center - Downtown campus, which is located in the historic Cherry Street Landing district, two blocks south of the Van Andel Arena. It is a 77,000 sq. ft. facility featuring a Cyber-Cafe, a multi-functional Grand Hall, a dozen classrooms, a Computing Lab for on-line research, and a compressed video/distance education classroom. The Graduate Center - Downtown also houses the Center for Counseling and
Psychological Services, a community based counseling clinic, as well as faculty, advisor, and administrative offices. The Downtown campus offers the only Counseling degree in Grand Rapids that provides all the required supervised clinical experience so that graduates can attain professional licensure to practice in schools as well as in
many other types of human service organizations, and also in private practice.
