The HPER academy honors academy provides public recognition of the outstanding achievements of the graduates (bachelor’s and master’s degrees) of the former Men’s Physical Education, Women’s Physical Education, and Health, Physical Education and Recreation Departments. Nominations should be forwarded to the Department Chair no later than December 1.
The Golden Apple Alphabet Song was sung 
at the Golden Apple award ceremony by Bertha Barbee-McNeal, Dave Severin Ansel, and Cal
Street. The score was arranged by Jonathan Cook. The song was recorded in the WMU Sound Studios of the Dalton Music
Center by Alec Johnston and Josh Ordman. The cover design for the song was prepared by Deveta Gardner. Special thanks are given to Denny McCrumb, Amy Burns, Carl Doubleday, Richard Adams, and
John Campos for help with the song.
