Course Description
July 9-12, 2007
Day 1 |
Day 1 you will learn why paper is coated and how coating affects print quality. | |
Day 2 |
Day 2 is equipment day where you will learn about the how coating is applied, metered, dried onto a paper surface. | |
Day 3 |
Day 3 get into the details of the materials and how and why they are used in different coating formulations. Day 3 also brings it all together when you actually observe a real coating trial on WMU's pilot coater. | |
| Day 4 |
If you elect to take the optional Day 4, you will break into smaller groups and each group will participate in hands on activities that include exploring different coating preparation methods, analyzing both wet and dry coating, and running printability tests. |
