Airknife Coater

The airknife coater can apply and dry air-knife coatings at 500 fpm (152 m/min). This can be done on webs up to 26 inches (660 mm) in width from rolls up to 40 inches (1015 mm) in diameter. Actual maximum coated area is 22-23 inches (5560-585 mm). Width of uncoated area is depend upon the runnability of coating formulation. The airknife has a maximum air pressure of 3.25 psi (0.2 bar) and has fine adjustments for knife position and orifice setting.

The gas-fired dryer has three 20 ft. (6 m) zones with medium air velocity. The temperature of each zone can be independently controlled; the maximum is 400°F (204°C). The drum-type contact winder is equipped for controlled winding tension.

On-line IR coat weight measurement is provided.
