With three degrees in music education, she is a vocal and general music specialist having public/private classroom experience in Illinois at all levels with a K-8 emphasis. At Western, she is an elementary music specialist and she chairs the Professional Education area. Recognized as a vocal health and education clinician at the national, state, and local levels, she has also taught in the Division of Continuing Education at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Prior to her appointment at Western, she was a member of the music education faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She is advisor of Western's CMENC chapter, which has been cited as a "chapter of excellence" for its outstanding programs and recruitment techniques.
