University Chorale

The University Chorale is devoted to excellent performance of choral music. The ensemble is selected by audition from Western Michigan University’s enrollment of 26,000 students. Chorale’s annual performance itinerary includes concerts and festivals on Western’s campus, appearances in neighboring communities and churches, tours within the U.S., and an international tour every third year –the most recent being a tour of Italy and Bulgaria in 2005.

Performances & Competitions

In May 2002, Chorale competed in the 4th Robert Schumann International Choir Competition in Zwickau, Germany. They won their division (A1: mixed choirs at the highest difficulty level), and they competed against the best choirs from each division to claim the competition's grand prize.
