Keynote Speaker Dr. Diane J. Skiba
Dr. Diane J. Skiba is Professor and Coordinator of Healthcare Informatics at the University of Colorado College of Nursing. She is the Project Director for the Colorado Health Information Technology Education Collaborative, a 2.6 M dollar university based training grant funded by the Office of the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology to prepare health care professionals for highly specialized health I.T. roles. She is the Project Director of the iTEAM (Interprofessional Technology Enhanced Advanced practice Model) project focused on the infusing technology throughout IPE experiences on the Anschutz Medical Campus.. Since 1980, she has dedicated her career to the development of nursing informatics specialists. She is a leader working national and internationally to insure that all nurses have the necessary knowledge and skills to practice in a technology-rich health care environment. A frequent speaker about informatics and use of emerging technologies to facilitate healthcare and education, she also writes a column on Emerging Technologies for NLN'S journal, Nursing Education Perspectives.
