Business-Oriented Chemistry Major

The Business-Oriented Chemistry Major is available to provide chemical understanding to the level needed by students who intend to prepare for careers in non-laboratory functions of chemical industry and distribution of its products and technology, principally in the areas of management and sales, as well as for some aspects of government service. This major covers a broad background of chemical science without requiring as many specialized chemistry courses as are required for the chemistry major and allows the student to minor in a business area so as to become familiar with the skills of the business community. A student completing this program can easily move into graduate programs in the College of Business or in Chemistry with minimal additional course deficiencies to make up.


In addition to the Chemistry courses listed below a Business-Oriented Chemistry Major must complete Math 122, 123, 272, Phys 205, 206, 207, 208, and complete a minor in either General Business, Management, or Marketing in the Haworth College of Business.
