Guide to Getting the Full Text of Articles

Once you have found an article in a database you can get to the full text options in one of the following ways:

Look for a full text link in the database . Each database displays it a bit differently, but here are some of the most common forms:

Use the PDF file with the Adobe Acrobat symbol

PDF icon for Infotrac database , when possible, as that will recreate the pages as they were in the original publication including images

If there is no full text link - look for the

WMU's Full Text Article link button. Usually it is right in the search results, but sometimes, like in ProQuest, you have to click on the title of the article and then look for the button.

WMU's Full Text Article link button will tell you if we have this full text online, or in a print version, or if you will have to request it from interlibrary loan. Here is what the page might look like:

Links to full text online appear under the heading Find full text online

If available, the location and call number will appear under Find full text in print

Links to full text appear under Find Full Text Online heading

If we don’t have full text online or in print then get it elsewhere

If location and call number do not appear, we probably don’t have this in print

You can still get it from another library through our Interlibrary Loan service
