Instructions for Academically Dismissed Students
If you wish to apply for readmission to the University after being academically dismissed, read the following information. To be considered for readmission, it is your responsibility to:
- Carefully complete the College of Arts and Sciences Application for Readmission.
- Carefully complete the University Application for Undergraduate Readmission. Deadlines for readmission appointments do exist. Call now for your college's requirements. PTC students must obtain a recommendation from the Office of Admissions and Orientation. MLK students must be admitted by the MLK Program Director only. Alpha students must obtain a recommendation from the Alpha advisor. International students must obtain a recommendation from the Office of International Student Services after they see a college advisor.
- Students who last attended WMU four or more years ago may apply for Academic Forgiveness. For more information, contact the Registrar's Office at (269) 387-4300.
Submit the following items along with your readmission applications:
- WMU transcript, only if you have any coursework completed here prior to 1984 (transcript available from the Academic Records Office, Seibert Administration Building).
- Transcript(s) from any other institution(s) you have attended since you were dismissed from WMU. You must also request that an official copy of the transcript be sent directly to the Office of Admissions and Orientation so that a credit evaluation can be completed.
- Your completed Arts and Sciences Application for Readmission and University Application for Undergraduate Readmission.
The Application for Readmission and the Application for the Undergraduate Readmission along with supporting documentation must be submitted to:

The decision to readmit is determined by the academic advisor or the Office of Admissions and Orientation. Petitioning for readmission does not guarantee automatic readmission to the University.
