Volunteering

Volunteering in the community allows you to make a difference in the lives of others while you explore a career field, meet professionals in the non-profit and government sectors, and build skills for working with people, such as communication, listening, motivating, judgment, and conflict resolution.

Campus and Community Programs

  • Volunteer Extravaganza is held during Bronco Bash at the start of the academic year each fall. Meet many agencies in one location and learn how serving community needs translates into experience.
  • Adopt-An-Agency pairs student groups, classes, and organizations with local non-profit organizations to provide on-going volunteer support for a minimum of two semesters.
  • Volunteer Alliance offers student leaders committed to service the opportunity to come together to strengthen the partnership between campus and community. Students network with organizations, share ideas, and collaborate on projects to increase student awareness of volunteering.
  • Take advantage of classes and student organizations that sponsor service projects for learning beyond the classroom. Employers look for demonstration of applied learning when evaluating resumes.
