Student Pay Rates for 2009 -2010 Western Michigan University
Student Pay Schedule Guidelines A 2% pay increase for student employees will be effective September 7, 2009 of pay period 12. Rate increases will be applied automatically by Human Resources and rates must be followed for any student employees in the A - D levels. Students currently paid at a rate above a D4 will not receive an automatic increase; a separate transaction form will need to be processed by the department. General Fund and Fund 42 base budgets will be increased to reflect pay rate changes. Other funds will need to build this increase into their overall 2009 - 10 budget. Student employees with U.S. citizenship may work a maximum of 30 hours per week in the fall/spring semesters. Based on federal law and VISA restrictions, international students may work a maximum of 20 hours per week during fall/spring semesters. Please refer to Article 1.1.3 of the 2006-2009 AFSCME / WMU Agreement in regards to student employees working in AFSCME staffed operations.
