Controller, Forensic Fluids Laboratories

Sandra "Sandy" D. Steinbach, a longtime area financial executive, is the controller for Forensic Fluids Laboratories, a privately held, rapidly growing oral fluid drug testing company in Kalamazoo. Previously, Steinbach has held various financial leadership roles at Western Michigan University, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Stryker, Kellogg Company and Plante and Moran. 

A southwest Michigan native, Steinbach has developed a broad financial background in the various companies she has worked in the Kalamazoo area. She has experience in areas such as budgeting, financial analysis, strategy, contract management, operations, accounting, taxation and treasury.

Steinbach earned two degrees from Western Michigan University, a bachelor's degree in accounting in 1984 and a master's degree in finance in 1996. She has served four years on the WMU Foundation as a board member and finance chair, has taught accounting courses at Western Michigan University as an adjunct faculty member and also served as the finance director for the American Red Cross.
