Greenhuse Layout. The greenhouse is divided into 2 sections. Research Section - Six zones ( 2500 sq. ft. ) are devoted to research conducted by the faculty, adjunct faculty and students in the Department of Biological Sciences. A storage / support hallway divides the research section into two halves with 3 zones on each side. The zones vary in size from 96 sq. ft to 375 sq. ft. Conservatory and Propigation Section - There are 4 zones ( 1700 sq. ft.) devoted to the departments Conservatory Collection which numbers approximately 350 species representing 50 plant families. This collection is used by students enrolled in Biology Laboratory ( Bios. 110 ), Organismal Biology ( Bios 151 ), Botany ( Bios 220 ), Plant Physiology ( Bios 319 ), and Systematic Botany ( Bios 427 ). The remaining two zonea in this section are used for plant propigation, class support and class projects. Located next to the greenhouse in Wood Hall is the Environmental Chamber and Plant prep room. Four walk in Percival Chambers provide additional research space for experiments that require more precise environmental control... An elevated Carbon Dioxide and elevated Ozone chaber will be added to to this facility in the future.
