Dr. Eversole's main research is in the cellular pathology associated with the mammalian immune response to helminth parasites. The laboratory is currently interested in eosinophil involvement in intestinal Peyer’s patches in regard to antigen presentation and nematode rejection. In addition, it is involved in both the Mectizan Donation Program for Lymphatic Filariasis Elimination for Africa and the Onchocerciasis Elimination Program for the Americas. The role will include providing a pathology database for human tissues gathered in order to monitor drug efficacy in these important worldwide disease elimination programs. He uses techniques such as transmission electron microscopy, laser scanning confocal microscopy, immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry, compartment-specific fluorescent probes, autoradiography and Histology.
