Frostic School of Art Honors Middle School and High School Artists

On Sunday, Feb. 10, two middle school and two high school students, whose art work is part of the annual Michigan Art Education Association Region 5 exhibition, received awards from the Frostic School of Art. Karl Hawkins' computer illustration, "Cosmic Creator" (shown here) received the Outstanding Artist award at the high school level. Abigail Ziemkowski's graphite drawing "Aftermath" received an Award of Merit. Both young artists are students of Edie McAfee at Portage Northern High School. At the middle school level, Dayton Siewert's watercolor "Angel" received the Outstanding Artist award, and Elizabeth Ramsey's drawing, "Looking Up," received the Award of Merit. Mr. Siewert is a student of Julie Bender at F.C. Reed Middle School, and Ms. Ramsey studies with Randy Veldman at New Buffalo Middle School.
