Four of the five educators who received professional recognition this year by the Michigan Art Education Association (MAEA) have ties to the Frostic School of Art. Kimberly Cairy, this year's Art Educator of the Year and Middle Level Art Educator of the Year is a product of our B.A. in art education program (1997). Janine Campbell, recipient of this year's Professional Development Scholarship is a graduate of our M.A. in Art Education program (2010). Barbara Rensenhouse, the MAEA Distinguished Service awardee, has a long history with WMU, from her B.S. (1951) through her M.A. degree (1959), to over 32 years as a member of the art education faculty. Sarah Nemire, recipient of the MAEA Memorial Endowment Scholarship, is currently completing her B.F.A in Art Education, and running our After School Arts Mentorship community outreach program.
