Joyce Kubiski teaches a wide variety of art history coursework including Greek and Roman, Medieval, Italian Renaissance, and seminars in Medieval Manuscript Illumination, Book Arts, the Body in Art, and Death in Art. Her research focuses on French and Italian manuscript illumination from the 14th to the 16th centuries, portraiture, representations of the body, and issues of costume and identity. She is currently working on the role of Greek and Ottoman dress in Quattrocentro Florentine painting. With faculty member Bill Charland she is developing a study abroad program in Rome, Italy to launch in summer 2011.
