In addition to teaching in the ceramics program in the Frostic School of Art, Paul Flickinger has also taught at Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Lincoln Center Aesthetic Education and Prague Academy of Fine Art in the Czech Republic. He was also the Ceramics Studio Manager at Hope Enterprises Ceramics Training Program in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He has received several grants and awards including; the Fulbright Senior Specialist Award, the Grand Prize of the West Michigan Regional, the Arts Council Of Greater Kalamazoo Emerging Artist Grant, the Dybvig Award from the University of Michigan and Third Prize and Purchase Award from Kalamazoo Institute of Arts Area Exhibition. Paul has exhibited widely in the state of Michigan including; Lansing Art Gallery (Lansing MI), Water Street Gallery (Saugatuk MI), Krasl Art Center (St. Joseph MI), Paint creek Center for the Arts (Pontiac MI), Southwestern Michigan College (Dowagiac MI), and the Overbrooke Gallery (Muskegon MI). Paul is also the Founder and Executive Director of Clean Water for the World, which has delivered and installed safe drinking water systems in El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Haiti, Ghana, Kenya, and Ecuador.
