Israil Ali has been working as a Management Analyst for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) since 2007. His federal career began when he was selected as one of 44 participants, amongst 2,500 candidates who applied to the agency’s prestigious executive leadership program, Emerging Leaders. During the Emerging Leaders program, Israil worked side by side with Senior Executives from various agencies within DHHS, such as the Office of the Secretary (OS); Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  Israil has worked both collectively and independently on various projects/programs that have improved administrative practices and produced efficient outcomes within the Federal Government. Most recently, Israil has identified his proudest moment working with DHHS as the opportunity he received to see First Lady, Michelle Obama, speak to his colleagues and remind them all of the mission that has been set forth for America.

Before joining DHHS, Israil served as the Associate Director for Community Relations for a home health agency; United Nursing Services in Kalamazoo, MI. Prior to that position, he interned as a patient representative with Borgess Health in Kalamazoo, MI. While establishing his career, Israil has also served on many planning committees that promote diversity, education, and financial allotments to both local students and the community at large.

Beginning 2010, Israil will be serving as an adjunct professor with Morgan State University, within the Department of Health, Physical Education & Recreation.  He will be instructing classes such as: Health Education, Healthcare Finance and Healthcare Promotion.

Israil, a native of Detroit, received his Associates of Science degree, in Occupational Therapy, from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. After completing his degree, he enrolled at Western Michigan University, where he received both his B.S. and MPA. Israil became the first student at WMU to receive his Bachelors of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Health Services in 2003. Also, as a Thurgood Marshall Award recipient; he obtained his Masters of Public Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration in 2006.

In addition to his career obligations, Israil is a very avid entrepreneur. In Early 2010, he will be launching his own virtual concierge company, www.savvyconceptsllc.com along with other collaborative ventures that he says, “…will change the paradigm of social networking”.
