Information about Alumni Contacts

Alumni contacts are ambassadors for Western Michigan University who are committed to supporting WMU alumni interaction in their area. They should publicly show pride in WMU and publicize WMU in their community; however, they are not required to hold designated activities or have a formalized structure for programming, publicity, finances or leadership. Alumni Contact Requirements

• Show enthusiasm for and support of Western Michigan University and a desire to further the interests and visibility of WMU in the community.
• Respond to yearly WMU Alumni Association inquiry as to whether alumni contact status is still agreeable.
• Assist the WMU Alumni Association with outreach events in the alumni contact's area.
• Act as the point of contact for alumni in the area.

• Contact information on the WMU Alumni Association website.
• Monthly communication from the WMU Alumni Association about campus happenings.
• Support for initiating contact with alumni in the alumni contact's area

How to Become an Alumni Contact

If you are willing to serve as an alumni contact in your area, please take a moment to fill out our interest survey. Upon completion of the survey, a member of the WMU Alumni Association staff will contact you.
