WMU mourns loss of Haenicke
On Feb. 26, more than 1,600 people joined together in, what one speaker described as, "profound sorrow but even greater thanksgiving," to celebrate the life and legacy of WMU President Emeritus Diether Haenicke, who passed away on Feb.15. Click here to view a video of the service.

Two appointed to WMU Board of Trustees
Mary A. Asmonga-Knapp, M.S.W. '94, of the Department of Defense and James Hettinger, B.A. '71, M.A. '73, former president and CEO of Battle Creek Unlimited, were appointed to the Board of Trustees.

WMU Alumnus in "American Idol" top 12
WMU Gold Company alumnus and Kalamazoo native, Matt Giraud, B.A. '07, made it through another round on "American Idol" Wednesday night. Giraud is now one of 12 contestants still competing for the coveted title role.

WMU senior forward Patrick Galivan was the HCA National Division I Player of the Month in Feb. Galivan tallied 17 points on nine goals and eight assists in eight games, averaging 2.12 points-per game. More.
