WMU junior wins Udall Scholarship
Michael A. Gregor, a junior in WMU's Lee Honors College from Macomb, MI, has been awarded a prestigious Udall Scholarship. Gregor, who is the fifth WMU student to win the scholarship since 2000, is studying public policy, environmental studies and nonprofit leadership. More


WMU Day at the Capitol is approaching

WMU Day at the Capitol is a first-of-its-kind display of pride and achievement at the Michigan Capitol Building during a daylong event Wednesday, May 28. The event will feature a noon flyover by the college of aviation. Register today to participate in this WMU celebration with other students, alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends of the University. Marketing students among the best
Nine students in the Department of Marketing placed third in the nation at the annual American Marketing Association case competition, marking the fifth time in seven years that a WMU team earned a top spot in the event. More


WMU in Michigan Aviation Hall of Fame
WMU's College of Aviation was recently presented with the 2008 Spirit of Flight Award. The University's aviation program was honored for its more than 60-year history of striving to "establish and maintain state-of-the-art, world-class professional aviation programs that are among the best in the world." More

Tasha McDowell was introduced as the fifth head women's basketball coach in Western Michigan history on April 19, 2008. Most recently, McDowell served as the defensive coordinator with the University of Wisconsin Badgers. More

Seeking ideas for memorial
WMU is seeking ideas for an inspirational message to be included in a campus memorial. The proposed memorial would honor WMU men and women who have served in a branch of the armed services, provided aid through the American Red Cross or Peace Corps, or lost their lives in tragic events like the Sept. 11 attacks. Submit ideas here.

Two earn coach of the year

Congratulations to WMU women's head tennis coach, Betsy Kuhle and men's head tennis coach, Dave Morin, who were both honored with the MAC Coach of the Year Award in April.
