Freshman online application
Before you apply online
Did you previously attend WMU or submit an application within the last two years?
If so, you must use the Application for Readmission.
Is this the correct application for you?
The online application is only for:
- U.S. citizens who have completed college courses after graduating from high school (or have a GED) and do not have a bachelor's degree.
- I-551 permanent
resident card holders who have completed college courses after graduating
from high school (or have a GED) and do not have a bachelor's degree.
Note: A copy of the I-551 alien registration card must be mailed to admissions. Processing of the application will be delayed until the copy is received.

At the end of the application instructions page you will find a link to the online application. Please note that you may save your progress and continue your online application at any time.

Are you seeking a second bachelor's degree or post baccalaureate initial teacher certification?
If so, you must use the Post Baccalaureate Initial Teacher Certification Application.

Undergraduate application for admission (freshmen and transfer) 
If you are a freshman or transfer applicant and you wish to use the
paper application, download this printable application.
Non-degree admission
If you are not seeking a degree and only wish to take classes, you may
apply for Non-Degree status. You must use this printable form. Non-Degree
status may limit both course and financial aid options. Acceptance for
Non-Degree does not constitute degree admission to WMU. Bachelor's degree
graduates who are seeking permission to take classes must use the Graduate
non-degree application.
Application for readmission
For students who previously attended WMU (or applied within the past two years but never enrolled). Please note: If you were academically dismissed, you must meet first with an academic advisor in the WMU college you wish to enter. Complete instructions are included on Page 2 of the application.
Guest application
For students currently at other colleges seeking guest student status at WMU
High school dual enrollment application
For high school students seeking permission to take WMU classes while
enrolled in high school.
Second bachelor's degree admission
For those who have a bachelor's degree and now wish to obtain a
second bachelor's degree.
Post baccalaureate initial teacher certification
For those who have graduated from a four-year, accredited college or university
and now wish to obtain Michigan teacher certification.
Senior citizen's opportunity program in education (SCOPE)
Persons who are 62 years of age or older may qualify for this non-degree
program, which is also known as Project SCOPE. Students who want to register
for credit are not eligible for SCOPE. Read more about SCOPE in the online academic catalog.
