What type of school is Western?

Western is a four year, public research university that offers programs leading to degrees at the undergraduate, graduate and professional level..  WMU provides leadership in teaching, research, learning and public service.

We work with all community colleges in the state to foster a smooth transition to Western for transfer students who have earned associate degrees. In some instances, transferring early may be beneficial in some limited enrollment or specialty programs of study..

When you enroll at Western you'll join a community that embraces the full range of educational, social and cultural diversity.  We attract students from across the United States, host 2,100 international students and interns from 110 countries and employ more than 1,000 faculty members who have been trained at some of the world's finest institutions.
