
WMU offers a variety of academic merit awards to students regardless of their intended fields of study. An examples of a highly desired scholarship is the Medallion to the state's most academically prepared students To be considered for the Medallion and other scholarships, students should submit their admission applications by December 1, 2006. The top 300 students based on their high school grade point averages and test scores, will be invited to a campus competition on Saturday, January 27, 2007. From this competition will be selected the top finalists who will receive Medallion awards worth $10,000 annually for four years.
In addition, a limited of Colleges offer departmental scholarships to students depending on their academic pursuits, prior leadership, and their talents

WMU acknowledges and accepts scholarships from outside sources. These awards are credited to students' accounts and applied toward their costs of attendance.
