What scholarships are offered by WMU?

WMU offers a variety of academic merit awards to students regardless of their intended fields of study. An examples of a highly desired scholarship is the Medallion which goes to the state's most academically prepared students. The top 300 students based on their high school grade point averages and test scores, will be invited to a campus competition on a Saturday in January.. From this competition will be selected the top finalists who will receive Medallion awards worth $10,000 annually for four years. To be considered for the Medallion and other scholarships, students should submit their admission applications by the end of November..

In addition, a limited number of colleges offer departmental scholarships to students depending on the students' academic pursuits, prior leadership and their talents

Visit the Financial Aid Scholarship Guide for a complete list of scholarships.

WMU acknowledges and accepts scholarships from outside sources. These awards are credited to students' accounts and applied toward the costs of attendance.
