Is there a student orientation at WMU?

Twelve undergraduate student orientation sessions are held throughout June and are important for new incoming new, first-time students to attend. These programs begin at noon on day one concluded by noon on day two. Parents are strongly encouraged to participate in orientation, as there are special sessions specifically for them. Students stay overnight in our residence halls, and parents are provided with a list of area hotels that give special WMU discounts.

During summer orientation, students are introduced to campus services and facilities, meet with advisors and complete fall registration for classes. For those who cannot attend summer orientation, a mini version of the program is provided during the first day of Fall Welcome, which is held in late August and is required for all new incoming first-time undergraduates.. There is also a special orientation program for transfer students who are planning to enroll in fall classes.
