
Housing at Western Michigan University is normally assigned on a first come basis, although this fall, some early applicants who qualify for admission may be able to select their housing units early in their senior year of high school. Housing sign up normally begins in February for the following Fall. Semester
There is a variety of "theme" housing options on campus. In addition to traditional housing with multiple dining options, the University offers apartment style living, married housing, and co-ed residence halls.

There are numerous off-campus housing options in close proximity to WMU. Many landlords offer attract options and services as well as competitive pricing.

In the Fall Semester 2004, more than 5,280 WMU students lived on campus. While the majority are new, first-time students, upper division and transfer students also find campus housing more affordable and convenient than living off campus.
