
Chris Sligh Chris has a Master's Degree in College Student Personnel from Ball State University and a Bachelor's degree from Grand Valley State University in Communications. He oversees the whole operation of the Student Activities and Leadership Programs Office. He specifically works with the Western Student Association as their advisor. He also spends time working as a liaison with the Office of Faith and Spiritual Development. Chris has been a bronco since 2000 and enjoys that no two days are the same and the high level of student interaction in his position.

Nicole Millar Nicole holds an M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs Leadership from Western Michigan University and a B.A. in Psychology from Grand Valley State University. Her responsibilities include overseeing the Registered Student Organizations on campus as well as working with Fraternity and Sorority Life. Before this position, Nicole worked in SALP as the Campus Programming Graduate Assistant and served her sorority, Alpha Sigma Alpha, as a Leadership Consultant. Nicole loves working with students and how much Bronco pride exists here at WMU!

Kate Bates Kate has a B.S. in Biology from University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and a M.A. in Counseling in Higher Education from Western Michigan University. Kate’s responsibilities include overseeing and implementing leadership events (retreats, conferences, etc.), volunteer events, and RSO finances. Kate also advises GSAC. Kate loves being part of and impacting students’ leadership experiences here at WMU!

Terri Riemland Terri was raised in Eau Claire and now resides in Coloma, with her husband and two daughters. She loves to entertain, especially during the holidays, and is praised by others for her attention to detail and always upbeat personality. Terri has been at WMU since 2005, serving in various departments throughout campus. All of these experiences have helped contribute to her ever-growing knowledge of the University and her Bronco spirit! In SALP, her main responsibilities are budgets and administrative support. |

Sarah Schultz A native of Saginaw, Mich., Sarah attended Grand Valley State University, graduating with a B.A. in Advertising and Public Relations. As an involved Laker, Sarah cultivated a passion for leadership, service-learning, and student development. Beginning summer 2011, Sarah will help with the implementation of SALP leadership retreats, workshops, conferences, LEAD Corp, and in the creation of service opportunities for students in the Kalamazoo community. She is ecstatic to work with WMU students, faculty, and staff and to create experiences for students to discover, understand, and cultivate the leader within themselves to transform their communities now and beyond.

Bas Blankenstijn Bas joined the Student Activities and Leadership Program team as RSO Financial Advisor in the Summer of 2011. Bas is from Kortgene, The Netherlands and attended Western Michigan University where he earned his B.A. in Finance in the Fall of 2010. He is currently working towards his Masters degree in Higher Education & Student Affairs at WMU and hopes to combine his degrees to pursue a career in Higher Education. Bas is very excited to be working with all the RSOs and students as Financial Advisor and looking forward to another great year. Go Broncos!

| Meredith Atchison Meredith joined the Student Activities and Leadership Programs team in the Summer of 2011. A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, she received her B.S. in Textile Development and Marketing from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. After working in the apparel industry for a couple of years, Meredith is excited to be back in Michigan studying Higher Education and Student Affairs. She currently serves as the Registered Student Organization (RSO) Development Advisor, assisting all RSOs on campus with programming and development, overseeing RSO Design, maintaining GoRSO, and planning the Golden Bronco Awards. Meredith is trilled to be working with WMU's amazing student leaders!

P.J. Jones Paunita (P.J.) Jones joined the Student Activities and Leadership Programs team in the Fall of 2010. A native of Detroit, Michigan, she attended Bowling Green State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in the spring of 2010. She currently serves at the Fraternity/Sorority Life Graduate Assistant, primarily advising the College Panhellenic Council, InterFraternal Council, and the National Pan-Hellenic Council. In addition to advising, she also plans and implements retreats and develops leadership programs for the Fraternity/Sorority Life community. She is excited to work with the student leaders and excited for Bronco athletics!

| Sarah Hurd Sarah joined the Student Activities and Leadership Programs team in the Summer of 2011. A native of Saginaw, Michigan, she is a former Bronco. Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from WMU in the Spring of 2008. After working for a few years as a corporate event planner, Sarah is glad to be back in school and studying Higher Education and Student Affairs. She currently serves as the Campus Programming Graduate Assistant, and works with the Campus Activities Board, Bronco Bash, and Homecoming. Sarah is excited to be a part of all the great events happening on campus and is looking forward to working with awesome students. Go Broncos! |
