The ACS maintains an extensive database of jobs that are posted by several hundred employers who are using our resume searching services to find the best candidates for their jobs. All year round, job seekers can access this database via the website: http://pubs.acs.org/chemjobs. This service is free to all job seekers. At the ACS National Meeting, the site offers the opportunity for ACS members to schedule interviews with employers who are available onsite. Mock interview sessions are also conducted at the National Meetings and resumes are reviewed at the National and Regional meetings and through the Career Consultant Program described below. 2. Career Development Workshops. We offer a rich workshop program that includes tips on resume preparing, interviewing and negotiation skills, career transitions, targeting the job market and job search strategies, to name a few. The ACS Salary Comparator. An online interactive tool that is extremely helpful in the job search process. For example, the system will generate the median base salary for a broad range of positions that is based on different geographic location, level of experience and many specific factors that influence pay. This tool is available to ACS members only and can be accessed at https://acswebapplications.acs.org/applications/acscomparator/page01.cfm. The data in the salary comparator is developed from the Society's annual employment surveys of its working members in the USA. These data can only access via the ACS Career Services web page. 4. Career Consultant Program Online (CCP Online). The CCP is an ACS member benefit that provides one-on-one career consulting with seasoned ACS members who volunteer their time to help their colleagues. They are available to discuss a broad range of issues ranging from resume preparation to assistance in finding employment, assistance in finding alternative employment, etc. CCPOnline can be accessed via http://pubs.acs.org/chemjobs/ccp/index.html 5. Other Web Resources. These include a set of Advanced Career Tools that include professional coaching and behavioral style assessment (both for a fee) and access to an extensive database of career-related FAQs that is open and free to all users.
